Sun, Snow and Sweden

SUN SNOW SWEDEN. That was going to be the title of the new blog I was going to create to detail my time whilst studying abroad in Sweden, until I thought it too analogous to throwing away a perfectly decent (and unfinished) journal only to begin a new one, enticing only in its newness.

The dream's come true. I'll be at Lund University in the eponymous city in Skåne, Sweden until January. It is located here, in the south, and Stockholm is here. I literally had very little idea of
Scandinavian geography until I chose to study in Sweden.

Every so often I'd like to do an entry with photos documenting my time abroad, through rain and shine (and lightningstorms, such as the one quietly lighting its way outside my window as I write).

But hold on a second. I need to backtrack a bit. The hundreds of photos I've already taken this summer demand justice and their fair share of screen time. So, a quick jaunt through what I did before flying over the big blue:

1. We visited my aunt's family in Montréal.

2. Summer school and my first fishing trip with a friend in years (whereupon I got fined for fishing without a license).

3. Fourth of July.

4. A little exploring in my very own backyard. A new friend.

5. Summer parties.

Next entry I'll go into detail about my first week in Sweden. Lakes, 400-year-old ships and Stockholm. And the best part of the whole city: the Plattens.

Until then, hej då my friends
